If youre looking to get copies made of 3 VHS tapes thatll be done, if youre lucky, in around 4 monthsand spend $157.92 for the privilegethese are your guys.
The problem starts with the marketing. Its classic bait and switch.
All of their marketing material, and website, promoted the $9 per tape deal. It is not until youre half way through the ordering process that you realize this is not true.
If you send in 10 items, yes its $90. If you send in 3 items, surprise, its $90.
But one of their classic schemes is not doing the work you paid them to do. Its the, unfixable or damaged claim where they slap a red sticker on your item and claim they couldnt digitize it.
Scan YouTube for countless videos of these red sticker items being digitized by everyone and anyone with no problem. Its a lazy way of getting tapes out of their building.
In our case we sent in 7 VHS tapes, all of which had been checked for playability, and content. After 84 days we inquired about the status. Within hours we received a shipping notice.
A week later we received our tapes back.
3 had been poorly digitized, 4 had nothing done to them. They used the, unfixable tag on them. Those 4 were all checked again for playability and contentall were fine.
We asked for full refund. They said no.
We asked to pay for the 3 tapes that were poorly done, and get a refund on the ones they didnt dothey said no.
We asked for specific information on why each tape was not done. They grouped them under some generic and general category, that we immediately verified as false.
They supplied double talk and lip service, confident in their assessment that you know nothing about the subject.
Its a pattern, a clever business model, where they take your money on day one, do nothing for several months, and then its a crap shoot to see what you get.
Sosave yourself a lot of money, and a whole lot of time, and find a local company, or a reputable company, and get the process done there.
There is not 1 good thing to say about this company. Every sign points to being under staffed and very poorly managed.

My order arrived and it is horrible. I am stunned that you could send out a product like this after months of waiting. Who quality checks these before they go out?

Verified Reviewer |BEWARE --- don't use Legacy Box....TERRIBLE JOB ON OVER 500 slides
I spent $600 on digitizing slides...and the only good thing is i have the slides back and can get them digitized properly. They don't tell you this...but apparently their process adds irregular and uneven black borders to ALL of your digitized images!!
You wouldn't want to show anybody the way they look. I took some other slides to a local vendor and no border was added. Legacy box is refusing to give me my money back...which all that i want. Cust Rep said i could crop the images to eliminate the borders...if i wanted to crop 500 images...i would have digitized the slides myself...rather than pay someone!
What a waste of money.
Don't believe their website or any ads. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.
Please just give me my money back!!

Hi, our daughter gave us a legacy box for Christmas several years ago. I am just now getting around to doing digitizing and was shocked to open the box for the first time and find out that it expired on 9/16/18.
There was absolutely nothing on the outside of the box to indicate that there was an expiration date. What is my recourse?

I ordered 218**** and Paid for my VCR tapes and photos to be completed by Mother's day this year. I have not received the items back.
I sent the items off and according to them its been 10 weeks that they have had my items??? I PAID already and I have nothing from them.
No one person at your facility can give me a date when I will get them?
PLEASE HELP I wanted them for Mother's day and it has now come and gone! I want my DVD's and the items I sent back to me ASAP with the items I paid in full .

I sent in my irreplaceable tapes and vids over 4 months ago. They never communicate or respond to emails or voicemails.
If you choose the callback option they never call you back. It says 10-12 weeks on the worst case to transfer and return materials. They only responded when I contacted the BBB and offering me rush priority service after almost 4 months with no contact whatsoever except daily marketing emails. They made excuses about being short staffed.
When the DVDs and USB stick arrived half the videos these incompetents sent back were blank and many videos like my wedding video I know is good were missing. Many videos are recorded in quick scan mode with nothing but snow and static. You can see how the operator is holding the wheel. No quality control was done.
No pre inspection of the tapes was done and of course they charged me 100s of dollars for blank videos. I am reporting fraud with Amex and demanding a refund. You would have to be insane to send these people your legacy irreplaceable family treasures and videos. Go to a local place you can get them back at least.
This is a factory making McDonalds quality transfers that take forever and then the work is rushed. I would like to see this company shut down.

LegacyBox does not let you know in their advertising prior to sale that they don't transfer sound if you have movie reels such as Super 8. Then they make you pay when you order but ask for a refund due to that fact that your movies don't have sound which is the reason for Super 8's and other reel film with sound and they don't tell you that until after you receive their box to return the media, they charge you for the shipping of said box.
Look at the other 1 to 2 star ratings. If you use LegacyBox you'll be sorry.

I just found out today that even though I have downloaded all the files they sent, they want me to have an annual subscription. I do not need any more of their services and tried to cancel my subscription and remove my credit card info.
THERE IS NO WAY ON THEIR WEBSITE TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION OR REMOVE MY CC!!
I am pissed. This is total BS!!!

Actually my loss was almost 40 dollars not 15. Legacy Box refunded my money minus the shipping of their box and deducted almost $40 from my refund for an empty cardboard box.
These people are a rip off.
